Redshift
A downloadable game for Windows
Demo for the work-in-progress space game I'm developing in Unity 3D, inspired by the TV Series "The Expanse" and the game "Elite Dangerous".
Currently supports procedural generation of planets and stars and Newtonian physics+gravity.
You can pilot a spacecraft using WASD+Space & Control and rotate using the mouse with 6 degrees of freedom. There are many more additional features, including flight stabilization, radar, turrets, and torpedoes. Press "Escape" and click "Settings" to view all keybinds for spacecraft controls. There is also a multiplayer system that lets you join other players in the main demo scene; however, it is very buggy and unfinished.
Plans for future development:
- Overhaul the procedural generation for planets/moons since the current design doesn't work too well for supporting realistic-looking celestial bodies.
- Implement a scene switching system like KSP to allow players to actually land and explore planets/moons.
- Add enemy AI bots.
- Add missions.
- Add a jump system for faster-than-light travel.
